WAJUDAH

PROFILE

FULL NAME: ULEH SAMSON WAJEMUTA

STAGE NAME: WAJUDAH

GENRE: CONSCIOUS REGGAE

STYLE: ROOTICAL-REGGAE-RAGGA

BORN & BRED: like many gifted young artistes theses days, WAJUDAHwas born on july 31st 1982, in the renown ghetto of suburb; Ajegunle {aka A.J} to parents who originally hail from isoko south L.G.A in IRRI town Delta state Nigeria.

‘‘I’M A GHETTO YOUTH! he likes to tell anyone who cares to listen.

EDUCATION: Naturally, he had elementary education at AFICAN PRIMARY SCHOOL, in AJEGUNLE, between 1989-1994.

Attended AWODI-ORA SECONDARY SCHOOL between 1994 and 1998 where he had his junior secondary school {JSSC}, after which he transfered to EBENEZER GRAMMAR SCHOOL, in Iberekodo, Abeokuta, ogun state Nigeria, between 1998-2001where he obtained his senior secondary school certificate, {SSCE}.

PASSION: This young RASTAMAN is bubbling with a strong passion; a passion for music as a passion to use his MUZIK highlight the ills and vices in our society and says he is poised to set the Nigerian music scene on fire with his contempoery reggae beat.

GENRE: though he is more inclined toward the dancehall idiom of the reggae genre, unlike many other artists however, WAJUDAH is not satisfied with merely putting out sounds for people to dance to.

He is pregnant with a strong message, inspired by a life of depriavation and lack, he experienced growing up in A.J city.

INFLUENCES: As a conscious RASTA youth grown up from the ghetto, he was naturally sensitive to the protest music that reggae music largely is. He soaked up the lyrics of such legend as BOB MARLEY, PETER TORSH and GARNET SILKS along with African stars like, ALPHA BLONDY, LUCKY DUBE, MAJEK FASHEK and the icon of afro-beat late FELA ANIKULAPO KUTI.

Being a young man though, it is only natural that the works of contemporary acts of his generation will rub off more on him; hence his placing three Jamaican biggest and more fire brand artistes of this era, CAPLETON, ANTHONY B and SIZZLA KALONJI as his role model.

THE JOURNEY TO STARDOM: Every artistes worth his or her salt, was born with the talent for music, and so it is for WAJUDAH. but it wasn’t until about 1998 that he finally discovered himself and made up his mind that carrier in music is what he wants to pursue.

Haven been orphaned by the untimely death of both parents, he relocated to Port Harcourt is bubblings with FIRE!

And fate it was that took him to Federal housing estate Woji, Port Harcourt where his would be producer, konboye “SEENCLEAR” Sinclair, also resides.

This was 2003, at the period seenclear is setting up his studio; SOUND COMPOUND STUDIO.

Albeit he had been singing at school functions and on the streets of A.J, prior to moving to port Harcourt, he had no previous recording to his credit.

This statue changed soon after he met with seenclear and they hooked up and cooks up some serious dancehall reggae vibes.

After almost two years of toiling and perseverance the result is a tantalizing album of 10 songs entitled: MORE FIRE. At last WAJUDAH, this humble ghetto rasta youth of the BOBO ASHANTI persuations, is blazing hot and ready to be introduced into the main stream Nigerian music sence.

The road to stardom is step and winding, but this hardly deters this young man. Hardened by his ghetto experience, he is well prepare for the ardous climb to stardom; ultimately.
